Waiting list for lower choices

Waiting list for lower choices
Does anyone know if those who get their first choice of school be able to go on wait lists for lower choices if they are not happy about the new catchments? I’m wondering how the wait lists will be affected if this is the case. I have read all of the policy and it doesn’t actually say if it is possible. I assume that means not, but does anyone know for sure?

You could ask to be put on the waiting list of a lower preference school in the past but you must accept your first choice school as well. I am not aware that has changed for this year so I imagine it is the same but the lea would confirm.
