11 plus test sitting today in Rugby
Hello
I heard today that there was a sitting of the 11 plus exam today in rugby. Kids already living in the town included! Why? Does anyone know as it seems highly unfair

I think the the schools and LA are probably obliged to test these late applicants as per the School Admission Code. The School Admissions Code states

https://assets.publishing.service.gov.u ... 19_Dec.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
They are facing a disadvantage as the places are already full but it could impact the waiting lists.2.9 Admission authorities must not refuse to admit a child solely because :
a) they have applied later than other applicants;
b) they are not of the faith of the school in the ca se of a school designated with a religious character;
c) they followed a different curriculum at their previous school;
d) information has not been received from their previous school; or
e) they have missed entrance tests for selective places.

Re: 11 plus test sitting today in Rugby
The 11+ test can be - and is - used right up until the end of August for sitters as described above in the Admissions Code. Which is one reason we constantly urge people not to share any info about the test at all.
Re: 11 plus test sitting today in Rugby
So what for example. Silly example but could happen! They all say scored 240 plus? How would places be allocated
Re: 11 plus test sitting today in Rugby
They will go on the waiting list in the same order as all the other applicants by the over subscription criteria
Re: 11 plus test sitting today in Rugby
Ah I see, so it’s not a case of them taking a place and a child losing theirs
Re: 11 plus test sitting today in Rugby
No they will not be taking places that have already been offered.

Thank you for the clarification
