commute from Kingston to SGS or Wilson's

Post by Sate »

HI,

Does anyone know if how feasible the commute is from Kingston to the Sutton schools, in particular SGS or Wilson's School? Are there anyone from Kingston whose children go there? Do they tire of the journey or think that it would have been wiser to go to a nearer school because of the commute?

Any feedback on this would be appreciated! Thanks!

There is X26 to Sutton and Wallington, which might be OK for SGS (short walk), but for Wilson's it's not so good, as the route is not close to the school. While it is possible to get off in Carshalton an get on 157 there, I think that the journey time will be too long.

Hello my son is at Sutton and travels by bus daily from Kingston, we chose Sutton over Tiffin even though we live very close to Tiffin, the X26 from near John Lewis or near the train station works well, and there are a few boys on the bus from Kingston every morning, joined with boys going onto Wallington. From New Malden fountain roundabout alot of Sutton/Wallington boys take the 213 or the X26. 213 works too from Kingston if they miss the X26. Tired wise, i haven't seen it an issue and they do make good friends on the journey and responsible sixth formers are usually on the bus which is good. Coming home again X26 or the 213 works and there are quite a few of them on there. One day is early release and a second day when they have games my son usually gets the earlier bus so 2 days out of 5 he's home earlier on the other 3 he's usually in Kingston for 4:40/4:45pm. I hope this helps you.

Thank you! That's so helpful. At least now we can consider those schools at least.

Hi KUThamesMum,

Just another question came to mind, what time does your child have to get up in the mornings to catch the bus?

Thanks!
