Hi all, hoping that your DDs get an offer on 1st March.
We are looking at the entry exam for Loreto this September and are category 4. Can you please let us know the pass mark for the exam and approximate mark that would be required to be likely to be offered a place from previous years?
Also, any guidance/advise on the maths test preparation? Many thanks!

Hi CTJ

The pass mark for was 338, I believe this can change, the previous year was 322.

We generally concentrated on the CEM exam and than practiced GL exam the few weeks before the exam. My daughter found the gl papers much easier than CEM an ended up missing the pass mark for Stretford by 5 marks and the rest of the schools by 10 marks. Timing was her issue on the CEM and did not finish any of the papers in the exam apart from the non verbal.

However she did pass Loreto with 363 so praying she gets a place come Friday.

We used bond books for CEM exams and the 11plus packs for the GL assessments.

The GL assessment have pack 1-8 which includes Maths, English, Verbal and Non verbal papers in each pack. I also bought some GCP books for maths and English.

I bought all the books on Amazon.

I am waiting to hear on appeal but the school has only taken category 4 and above this year, with the pass mark at 338 but as they are oversubscribed they only offered places at 340 and above.

Feel for those families who had daughters pass but not get 340 and certainly those families in categories 5-7 who passed and not been offered a single place due to the high level of passed in categories 1-4.

Hi, I would like to know if anyone in cat 7 had managed to get a place at all in Loreto in the past? And are they likely to be usually after an appeal?

Thanks

My daughter sat Loreto exam last year and passed with a score of 405. She was category 6 and AGGS was her first option and offer too. Loreto accepted up to category 4, but not sure if any from categories 5-7 did actually opt for Loreto as the first option.
