WOK Appeal

My daughter passed the Kent Test and we are on the waiting list.
We were told to appeal by the school. I have had help writing our letter by SpLD who assessed her and are appealing on the basis that The Weald could support her better than our local comp. Other than the appeal that we have written I’m just not sure what there is for me to add on the day?
Any experience of appealing? Is it better or worse that she has mild SEN but above average IQ 96%. Any advice appreciated.

Yes thank you I did read it. I just don’t understand what we can add? To have to go and repeat to them and go over information you have have already sent. What happens to the parents that aren't so eloquent? Are they at a disadvantage?

If there are no further arguments you think you could deploy, then there's nothing to be added.

• • ii. Even if you don’t present your case well, a good panel (and that is the vast majority of panels) ought to be able to tease out the important facts.
    iii. A panel has an ‘enabling role’ when parents find the process difficult, and should be sympathetic. On the other hand, they will see through a slick presentation and not be impressed.

The facts of the case and the strength of the evidence are what matters.
