Maths-English GL Assessment success criteria

Post by sonik »

Hi

We are preparing for HBS, TGS, Sutton
DD is doing English and Maths GL assessment Multiple choice papers -pack 1 . she is doing well so far..
getting score
in English - 85 to 92%
in Maths - 90+
Now need idea from experienced parents like How she is doing ? others kids getting what scores in GL assessment ? which score is good ?
I believe that pack 2 will be challenging for her ,but haven't buy any of those yet :)
Now no idea how tricky these papers are ? Could any body suggest papers according easy to hard level ?
other query is : How many papers usually I should give her in a week or month ? or any other idea/advise or timetable for study will be helpful

TIA :)

Just responding about HBS English which is the first round with VR and NVR.

3 thousand will sit, 300 will go through to second round so score to go through will be very high as 90% will not go through.

I predict there will be a lot of very high scores on the VR and NVR especially as North London dds will also be doing Multiple choice GL VR for SW Herts, DAO and Latymer.

So in my opinion it will be the English score that will make the difference.

Which one is your first choice? DG

yea you r right DG. I aware of this.

In 2 days she has mock exam - GL Assessment Mocks (Maths and English) ,so gave her a practice of GL assessment papers so she can understand the format. I started giving her a papers from starting of this week.

I will do GL MC papers for VR and NVR.
She has completed FPTP MC NVR papers-pack 1 in May but she got marks between 85 -92% ,so right now concentrating on her weakness .

She got 92 to 98 % in FPTP Maths pack-1 so giving her a different paper sets to get familiar with different questionnaires.

Expect scores to drop in the mocks as the exam conditions may impact her. DG

DD got marks in GL Maths english mock test - it was elvenplusexams mock test
Maths = 98% 6th rank
English = 90% 12th rank

but she said that maths paper was very similar to the GL assessment papers wt she did in practice. So need idea like how's the elevenplus mock test papers tricky/hard compare to real grammar school papers ?

I don’t know that , but they sent 6th of50 .

Cohort : in maths
COHORT - (students in the same sitting as this candidate)
Score Rank
94% 9 of 50

In English
COHORT - (students in the same sitting as this candidate)
Score Rank
94% 9of 50
