QMGS or BVGS

Post by Nital »

What is a better option QMGS or BVGS for my son?!? He has been offered place at both schools...
We don’t live in Walsall or B’gham but will be moving soon depending on what school we opt for...
Need recommendations please.... Thank you!

Which did you prefer when you visited? What are his interests & strengths? It's very hard for strangers on the internet to say where he should go, it's all about choosing the right school for a particular child. I'm sure they are both excellent schools.
Do you mean you have been offered one from the waiting list & haven't yet accepted it.
Maybe think about why you put them in a particular order originally?

How can you have been offered a place at both schools? Do you mean you were offered one at your second choice school and were on the wait list for the other and a place has now come up?

What made you put that one first on your CAF? Assumably you have been to both and looked at them and seen what they offer which would suit your son and his character? Why would you then take advice from the internet from people who do not know your son?

Go with the one you preferred when you looked at them, and release the other place as soon as possible so that another family can be offered it.

Cross posted with scary. Same message though!!

Do you want to live in Walsall or Sutton Coldfield? It would seem a shame to be moving for your DS's school and then make him commute anyway.

But you said you declined your QM place on the 8th. Have you or haven't you?

No they didn't. It looks like they were offered a school and have since been offered a higher preference school off wait list (on the 8th). It looks like OP is now trying to decide which school to opt for.

OP, I imagine you have already done your own research into the two schools as you listed both schools on your CAF and stayed on the wait list for the higher preference school. With that in mind, I imagine you had good reason to list the schools on the CAF in the order you placed them.

A stranger on the internet will not be well placed to decide which of the schools is best suited to your DC.

As per the above replies; they are both good schools, but also consider:-

Where do you work, what will your commute be like?
Siblings and access to primary schools
House prices vary considerably from Sutton to Walsall
