Moving to Bucks

hi We have family home but are planning to move to bucks for better schooling initially on rent. If we rent a property for Dr Challoner's high school will it affect on admission if we own another property which on lease.

I’m not a Bucks expert, but I think it will depend on how far away the family home is. LAs are looking to see that the move is permanent and not reversible. If the family home is far enough away that your DC couldn’t possibly commute to school in Bucks, it probably isn’t an issue, they will accept the move is permanent. However if it’s close enough for your child to commute to school, then they are likely to consider whether it is potentially a fraudulent application, especially if you later move back.

A Bucks expert will give hopefully give you better info. However most LAs are starting to look very closely at addresses and potential address fraud. Be prepared to be able to prove your move is genuine and not easily reversible.

You need to move by October 31st of the year your child takes the test.
The rules on property are here
You will need to provide evidence that you have disposed of the previous property or have rented it out, as well as a rental agreement of at least 6 months for the new property. BCC takes a very dim view of address fraud so will look carefully at anyone keeping their previous residence. Other parents are quick to report any cases of address fraud as well, so make sure you can document that this is a genuine move!

There is of course no guarantee that your child will qualify for grammar school. Have you confirmed that you would be happy with the local Upper?

From what I can make out, moving to Bucks for schools is a high risk venture.
