Appeal stage 2 question about siblings

Post by mib »

Hi all,

We had our stage 2 over subscription appeal today. We were asked if our DD has any siblings and how old.

We answered the question but is this a normal question asked? Walked afterwards feeling that it could bias the panels decision.

It's more common with primary school appeals where getting children to different schools on time can be a logistical problem for parents.
Seems unlikely to be an issue for a secondary school appeal unless there are particular reasons why you would need to escort your child to school.

Something in your case may have triggered the question.
Otherwise, it was probably similar to the sort of "filler questions" mentioned here:

What really matters are the positive reasons you yourself put forward for wanting a place at the school you are appealing for.
