If applying only to independent schools, do you need to cover HIKNOS questions for VR? As I understand it, independent schools write their own papers, but they are more in the style of GL?

You might get a more specific answer if you indicate which schools you are considering - the tests can be very different for each one - some have essay questions some don't, some are computer based tests some aren't....
