Aren't you planning to move to Kent?

Are you currently in catchment for one of the KE grammars?

Or for HBS?

Yes for Kent. No for catchment question.

Highly unlikely to get into KE grammars if outside catchment (new this year). Hopefully you are not using tests as "free practice" ?

Have we got catchment rule for all school ? "free practice" for which test ?

All the KE Birmingham Grammars have a new admission policy which makes it likely that only very few pupils living outside the defined catchments will be offered places.

Have you read the admission policy for the B'ham Grammars?

I just wondered why you were looking at doing a test when you lived way out of the catchment and are planning to move to Kent anyway?

Some people treat exams in other areas as free mocks - unfair on other kids doing them

A little light reading :)

Although I'm not sure how you managed to miss the introduction of catchment areas for the Birmingham grammar schools, given that you must have looked at the website for at least one of the schools, or the KE Foundation website, or visited one or more of the schools? Otherwise, how do you know that your DD wants to attend one of the KE grammar schools so badly that you are willing to uproot your family in order for her to fulfil that desire?
