Tiffin Stage 1 today!

I posted previously about a mock exam.

My son sat Stage 1 Tiffin today . We got soaked picking up!

How did everyone find it? My son said he didn’t finish maths, that English he found easier. A section on vocabulary, which others on this site have mentioned (either you know it or you don’t) and long multiplication, but that was about it.

Just relieved it is over!

My DC found Maths tough too and left few questions, english comparatively easier but not very easy too.

If c1800 sat Stage 1 today, and 450 go through to Stage 2 (is that right?), then 1 in 4 chance? Those odds don’t seem that good??

Based on last few years' pattern, about 600 will go to Stage 2. Information on School's website below.

My son also didn't finish the maths! He said the English was OK though so who knows!

I know they provided pencils today but my son used his pencil. It was HB pencil. Do you think is ok? I’m secretly panicking now after he told me.

Don’t worry Elevenpluson, HB are fine. It’s only if they weren’t HB that they had to use the school’s pencils. Due to computerised marking.

My daughter found Tiffins stage 1 harder than Nonsuch but easier than Nonsuch 2nd stage papers. She also thought english was a bit tricky but maths was not too bad. She did her best so wait and see now
