Late entry to Birmingham Grammar schools
Is there a late entry to Birmingham Grammar schools such as 13+ or in year admission from comprehensive school?

There is no specific 13+ entry but each school will fill places in year as they arise
Re: Late entry to Birmingham Grammar schools
You will need to contact the school/s and be added to the waiting list. If a place becomes available your child will bw invited to sit an entrance test.
A new boy has started in year 9 at my son's school and the head boy who showed us around a couple of years ago joined in year 9 too. Places do arise occasionally, though not always.
I believe KES does a 13 plus but I don't know any details.

This is from one of the school's policies:
Year 7 (first term)
If a vacancy arises during the first term of Year 7, the waiting list in existence
from 1 March of that year will be used and the place offered in accordance
with the admissions criteria above. This is a list of those who sat the entrance
test in September 2019 and who did not receive an offer from this school or a
more preferred school.
Mid Year 7 - 11
At any point from January after the pupil starts Year 7, parents may apply for
a place at the school. In-year vacancies normally only become available if a
current pupil is leaving the school. Any applicant who cannot be offered a
place will be added to the school’s waiting list and parents will be informed of
their right of appeal. If a vacancy arises, candidates on the waiting list will be
invited to take a test and the place will be awarded to the highest scoring
candidate above a minimum standard.

A boy left DS1’s class a week ago to go to another GS. He had to sit a test (there were 3 of them) and he got the place. This was at the start of Y10. You need to stay in contact with the school you are looking to go to.

KES does but it's for full fee paying and only 2 or 3 places max
