Waiting list cut off in Essex
Hi,
My son didn't pass but on borderline. Anyone know what was the cut off in 2019 for waiting list for Westcliff boys or Southend Boys?
Thanks

Hi Benfleet mum,
https://www.csse.org.uk/images/simplefi ... 6-9-19.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Check this link for lowest scores according to 2019 entry. For SHSB it’s 303 and WHSB it’s 308 as of September 2019.
Scores less than 303 are not considered for entry to school. You may consider putting it an appeal if you think your son was expected to score higher by demonstrating academic evidence and extenuating circumstances. Please see appeals section of this forum for further information, but don’t count on it, as the success rates of Essex appeals are literally zero.

Sorry but that's not enough and won't be considered. At the end of the day, it is what it is and better to go to a local comp and be top set than struggle in a selective.Sasmit wrote:He got 294. In catchment .
He'll be fine

Does anyone know what the lowest waiting list score was that was eventually offered a place at CCHSG last year, and how much lower that score was than the lowest score that got an automatic offer ?. Been desperately searching on the forum but no joy. Thanks.

The thread at the top of the page will give you that information. We were 4th on waiting list on offers day with a score of 337.98, I don’t think many were offered after us.Toniwithani wrote:Does anyone know what the lowest waiting list score was that was eventually offered a place at CCHSG last year, and how much lower that score was than the lowest score that got an automatic offer ?.
