Post by Tigermama72 »

Does anyone have info please about the lowest score in each of the following schools (both in catchment and out of catchment) which were ultimately offered a place either in first allocation or subsequent waiting list last year for 2019 entry:
CCHS- Chelmsford
CCHSG- Colchester
WHSG- Southend
Southend Girls- Southend

Many thanks. x

Thanks Toadmum for this. I find that for CCHS last year the last offered place was 106.4 against a green zone cut off of 108.2 which is a difference of 1.8. This year the green zone cut off is 106.9 and my DD scored 105.1 - again a difference of 1.8. Being in catchment and judging from last year, should I be optimistic that she stands a chance? But then would it depend on the number of entrants this year (I believe the total this year was 1100)?
Also, can schools be approached directly to find out what is the minimum score they would consider accepting this year (even though we have the bands mentioned in the letter) so we have a better idea when applying and listing preferences. Or is it not permissible to contact schools before offer day in March?

Also the orange (Amber) zone CSSE this year for Colchester County High for girls is 325. My DD has scored 334. Going by the link you sent last year the last offered Mark was 339.16. In that case going by offers made historically does she stand a chance?

Thanks.
