Kent 11+ Test. Appeal on grounds of illness

My son did the Kent 11+ test in September- he came down with the rash for scarlet fever two days after the test. He missed the English by 2 with a score of 108. His other scores were high and his overall score is very good. He felt unwell during the essay. How successful would our grounds for appeal be? We have a doctors note to confirm that he had scarlet fever.The scarlet fever was only diagnosed post the test but there is a 1-7 day incubation period which suggests it was in his system at the time of the test.
