Tiffin or Nonsuch, last minute advice please
We submitted application form with first choice - Tiffin Girl, second choice - Nonsuch
She changed her mind, wants Nonsuch as first choice.
Reason: Tiffin is too far, (planned 15 mins by car plus 25 mins by bus)
Nonsuch is 10 mins by car, I will do school run
Her score is sure to get into Nonsuch, she also passed Tiffin first stage test.
If you were me, are you going to change the school choice order?
Which school will you choose?
Thank you.

If your DD prefers Nonsuch and the journey is easier - ten minutes by car sounds like within walking distance in an urban area? - then personally, I would change the order of preference.Lovem wrote:We submitted application form with first choice - Tiffin Girl, second choice - Nonsuch

Ditto me as it gives you an alternative way of getting there (she could feasibly walk if needed.)
Re: Tiffin or Nonsuch, last minute advice please
10 mins to Nonsuch by car, but bus route and walking journey are both not easy, bus about 35 mins, walking nearly 1 hour
My daughter insisted to put Tiffin as first choice at the beginning, now she changed mind, I am not sure whether she will be regret later, if I change preference for her.

Go for the better journey. Also note that the headteacher at Nonsuch is ex-Tiffin Girls’ SLT.
Buying online? Please support music at TGS. No cost to you. Fundraising makes a difference.
Tiffin Girls' School has a designated area; see the determined admission arrangements. Use the journey planner. Note the Admissions timetable and FAQs.

I would change it.
Our LA allows you to change until one minute before midnight.
I know a family who changed twice this time last year.
I would always go for the closest school.
When she is older she will want to go to school under her own steam and stay for events and perhaps Sport and Music and Drama after school. DG

What’s the public transport to tiffin like? Will you always give lifts to nonsuch or will she need to get bus sometimes?
Re: Tiffin or Nonsuch, last minute advice please
Public transport to Tiffin: 5 mins Walk to take direct bus 37mins to Kingston then change to no 65 bus. Lots of girls have more time on the journey, but my daughter doesn't want to take bus.KingstonMama wrote:What’s the public transport to tiffin like? I will always do school run by car, she doesn't need to take bus, if she goes to Nonsuch.
I have changed preference for her.

You may find she will want to travel to school with her friends on the bus.
Glad to hear you changed the preference. DG
