No detail on the first round results.
Just pass or no pass and then the details of the English and Maths exam in January. DG

We got the letter today! So the girls are sitting a maths, english and comprehension paper. Does anyone know if the scores are standardised and then added to the first round???

Given that it's an independent school and you weren't told your DD's score for the first round anyway, they can do what they like with the scores and are unlikely to tell you, probably?Woodsideparkmum wrote:We got the letter today! The first round is used as a filter only to remove students who are unlikely to be able to score highly in the Maths and English papers.
It is real waste of time for teachers at the school to have to mark English and Maths papers that are nowhere near the standard required, so the first round picks up those students.
Only 25% of students are not progressing onto the second round.
The decision will now be made on performance in the English and Maths papers and the interview.
The first round results will not be used. DG

The first round is not that difficult. My daughter passed is, however, her classmate failed.
