Do primary schools automatically send a copy of the Y6 report to the relevant secondary?

Our primary school doesn't, they just pass on the SATS results.

So do all primary schools automatically send SATs results to their secondary school?

They don't go directly from the Primary - they go by a long route from the NAA to the LA to the new school ...

Not sure about the rest of country but KE Foundation Grammars in Birmingham do not use KS2 SATs for setting target achievement levels in Years 7 & 8.

They use a combination of the 11+ exam results and specific testing that is undertaken in the first few weeks of year 7. The reason for this is that KE Grammars take a significant intake from Independent prep schools, many of which do not do SATs.

We used to send the children's files onto the next schools each year. These included copies of all reports, we had the records passed onto us from the infant school. When a child moves schools their files are sent on to the new school (although it can take a while and several phone calls!)
