Y3 Number Bonds
Hi there, can I please ask for a little advice?
Both moving into Y3 and by the end of Y3, where should our DC be with regards their number bonds?
Thanks in advance

Re: Y3 Number Bonds
This was a long time ago as DD is now in Y10 but I remember number bonds being key in EYFS and KS1, but by KS2 / Y3 they had assumed these were known and thus a strong foundation and were therefore no longer taught to the core class. I may of course be mis-remembering.
A school would usually share information on what they are teaching so I am hopeful if you ask the school they will be able to let you know.

This may help?
Roughly, fluent to 20 addition and subtractions and know number pairs to 100

Re: Y3 Number Bonds
I spent many years teaching maths interventions in primary and number facts were quite often a sticking point when I tried to dig deeper into why children were struggling with other concepts. They really are a building block.
They are well worth practising often, so that they are automatic.
Some really good online games available.

I only wish some of the pupils I support in secondary schools could grasp these....
