My DD didn’t get offer outright but was told she is on their waiting list. School said they made very few initial offers of places this year and anticipate that a large number of girls on the waiting list will ultimately be offered a place.

Do all children that hasn’t been offered a place go on the waiting list?

Congratulations and good luck with your DD too. We applied for a bursary place which wasn’t successful so looks like we will go down the grammar school route. I’m just proud my DD got to interview and then waiting list place at City as I know how competitive it is to get a place there. I’m intrigued to see if we get offered a waiting list place though but my DD is a little disappointed as it was her first choice school. But she’s quite a shy girl and I get the impression that City are looking for super confident girls so perhaps it wouldn’t have been the right school for her anyway.

Does anyone know the likely numbers this year - I know they can’t say where children are on the waiting list but is there any information on how many have waiting list places overall?
