Possible commute from Ilford/Gantshill/around to WILSON
Hi all
We are looking at possible options to commute from east London to Wilson school.. If there are a handful of families (we already have 4), we can look at option of arranging a minivan or mini coach.. If anyone is in the same boat, pls ping back..
Thanks.

Please take time out and do this journey yourself for a week and then decide if is feasible for young kids.

That'll be 2 hrs each way surely? Worse on a bad day. Doesn't bear thinking about

Move house. Don't put your child through this. It's just a school.saurish09 wrote:Hi all

Is this a joke? Who would do that to their child? The school would not approve of pupils doing this journey every day.

I would either move or see if you can get on the waiting list for a school nearer to where you livesaurish09 wrote:Hi all

It is not uncommon for boys to travel around an hour each way, but this journey would not be sustainable or pleasant.MordenDad wrote:Wilson's parens:

I think it would also be more than an hour. By public transport you're going in to central London then out the other side. By road you have to cross the river somewhere (Blackwall Tunnel? M25?) then get though Croydon in rush hour. Streatham is about five miles from Wilson's and I would allow a minimum of 45 mins to drive there for the start of school.

I've checked that route on my google navigation [school run times] 1:38h-1:45h + some contingency minutes ~2h each way.Oneoftwothings wrote:It is not uncommon for boys to travel around an hour each way, but this journey would not be sustainable or pleasant.MordenDad wrote:Wilson's parens:
