vocabulary builder
Have looked at 'vocabulary builder' program by eleven plus exam - can anyone tell me if these are harder than you could expect on lincs 11+ VR? Hoping answer is 'YES'!
Hi libs
The vocab builder was written solely for the purpose of extending vocabulary as a result of requests for such a product insome forum posts and discussions with a headteacher of an independent school. We were asked to produce a product that contained over 8000 unique words, but ended up using over 10,000.
The format of the questions are not meant to reflect the format of questions contained in any of the 11+ or common entrance tests, but are designed to help extend word knowledge and word recognition.
As you will notice the questions are written in Levels with the lower levels being reasonably easy and the higher levels a little more taxing with the use of some technical, obscure and longer words.
The use of the CD is dependent on the imagination of the person supervising. You can complete questions as they appear or extend questions independently of the CD. For example the words contained in Alphabet order could be used for dictionary exercises.
Regards
Mike
