Should GCSEs be scrapped

Post by test1 »

You must have seen the renewed discussions on
Reform or scrap GCSEs, say 86 per cent of heads
In a poll of 799 heads, 86 per cent of school leaders said that GCSEs should either be scrapped and for assessment at 16 to be reviewed, or that they should be retained but reformed. Nearly two in five leaders (39.55 per cent) said they thought the qualifications should be scrapped.
Is there a chance that in the light of the current C-situation - this discussion may pick up some extra steam.

I would suggest that we wait & see rather than speculate endlessly. As we all know, this is a rapidly changing situation. A week ago I would probably have gone to a crowded festival or concert. This weekend I made the decision to not go to an event where people would be jumping up & down in close proximity and shouting a lot.
