About Stage 2... [Sutton Grammars]
Good evening all, I have a couple of questions about Stage 2 tests for the Sutton Grammars.
English: Is cursive writing desirable? How significant is neatness of handwriting?
(In other words, would Charles Dickens have failed this test miserably? )
Maths: Is Stage 2 similar to Stage 1, re. type of questions and difficulty level? (Beyond the fact that Stage 2 is not multiple choice)
Thank you

Re: About Stage 2... [Sutton Grammars]
Stage 2 maths involves longer multi-step questions. Generally, there are more questions than can be answered in the given time and the difficulty significantly harder than stage 1. The feedback from my DDs that stage 2 was very tough and they came out saying they did not have time to answer some of the questions. Neither of them came out and were particularly positive but they did okay.
With regards to whether you have to write using cursive text - I'm not sure you have to do this. I think so long it can be read it should be fine. Make sure easy marks are not dropped through silly grammatical errors and spelling mistakes.
Good luck - Not long to go now!
