Help with CAF form

Post by ellynoonoo »

Hi, I’m a bit confused as to the rules regarding placements of schools. For instance if we pass for all schools (gotta be positive! :D ) and we put AGSB but we are out of catchment and don’t get a high enough score to get in, will they automatically disregard that choice and move to the next school on the list that we have passed for?

I’m worried that if we do put AGSB first and don’t get a high enough mark for OOC that we may miss out on our 2nd choice. Thank you.

Put the schools in your genuine order of preference. If you don’t get your first choice you’d second choice becomes your first choice etc. You won’t miss out on your second choice just because you put it second and not first.

You should select the school you really want first. You can express a preference for any school, in any order, regardless of where you live. However, you must remember that applicants living within a catchment area will usually be given a higher priority than you.

You should always include your catchment area schools in your list of preferences. If you live in the catchment area for more than one school you are advised to include all of them. This will not stop you being offered a school that you have listed higher, but will give you a better chance of being offered a place in a local school.
