Kent HTA appeals process
Hi
Does anyone know how these work? I know that HTs submit written evidence to a panel, but then - what? Do they turn up and defend the case? Does the panel meet without the HTs who have appealed? And when do the outcomes of the panel get communicated to HTs who have submitted cases? Curious about how it all works! Thank you.

It's not really an appeal. More like a review.

I'm not from Kent, though.

I'm doubtful - it's not how a review tends to work. Usually the written case is presented, and the panel meets in secret to decide.Do they turn up and defend the case?

As far as I am aware in 'normal' years the local heads of primary schools meet at the local Grammar school and together with the Grammar heads they assess pupils based on the writing task, their text books and where available CAT scores. I am not sure whether they fight for their own pupils or whether they are on different panels so assessing children from other schools.
