HABS boys exam demand results in extra slots on 17th Dec

HABS boys have received more applicants for the 11 plus than ever before. This extra demand has resulted in both the prep and the senior school having to finish a day earlier on 16th December. This provides the room to run an extra 11 plus session am on the 17th to add to the pm slot and the am and pm slots on the 18th. DG

do you know how many more have applied this year? I am assuming the places offered will not change? And this includes the deferred entry for 13+ as well??

Habs publicised the extra date when they announced the switch to a fully computerised test and brought the whole thing forward to December.

Does it indicate many more applicants, or just the fact that they have to restrict the numbers for any one sitting?

No.

This is an additional slot that they just decided on this week. Originally there were three slots with the Senior and prep school finishing at lunchtime on the 17th December leaving pm on the 17th and am and pm on the 18th December.

This week they decided they needed another slot so they emailed the parents to let them know school will end pm on the 16th December which gave them another slot am on the 17th December.

As registration only closed on 20th November it is only then that they knew exactly how many applicants they would be dealing with. DG
