Tutors CD Vol2 Test 2 can you help??
I am obviously missing something but can you help me clarify teh answer to Q47.
Susan drew an isosceles triangle with angles A B and C.
Angle A measured 70 degrees
Angle A and B have a difference of 30 degrees.
Give angle C
Answer is 40 degrees.
My working out was this...
Isosceles triangle has 2 angles the same.
Angles in a triangle add up to 180.
If A & B differ by 30 degrees (making B 40) then angle C must be 70.
If A & B different then C must equal A or B.
70 +70 +40=180
70 +40+40 =150.
so Angle A & C must be equal C=70 degrees.
I am now officially confused so can anyone shed some light on this for me.
If I can;t understand then how can I eplain it..

Hi yoyo
I appreciate that 8! was outside the range given.
However 8 out of 10 is also incorrect.
The answer is 10 out of 10. The question was rhetorical!!!
For Maths 11+ multiple-choice tests set by NFER it would not be possible to improve on the question, therefore it is a perfect question.
Hi G55
What is work?
Work is a series of events for which you receive no pleasure and for which you are paid at a far lower rate than what you are actually worth.
Haven't you been "indulging in your vocation" where the pleasure you attain far outweighs the renumeration you receive?
Regards
Mike
