This has been released by Gloucestershire LEA in response to a FOI

Need to have a look and see if the boys are dominant at crypt and Pates! Also how the months of birth relate proportionally to all births in that month (eg Sept is high but Sept is high for births anyway)

Interesting stats! Looking at the 2019 data, once you take away the extras from appeals (which from census info looks pretty even) then you are left with approx 550 places for girls and 500 places for boys.
40 girls started Crypt in 2019 so we can deduce that 110 boys received Crypt places. In turn, the Pates split would be about 60 girls and 90 boys.
As I said previously, I think the girl share may be even smaller this year as I don't recall such a gender difference Crypt scores for the 2019 intake.

There was also one FOI which asked for the year 7 at Chelt Schools which includes Pates, which wards did they come from? For Pates it was <5 for all except out of county which was 56 - that was the year 7 only which meant 1/3 were out of county. (If you look at total allocation it comes to 150)

Soglos so you think there will be less places for girls this year than 2019? Do you mind if I ask why? I think crypt is possible more popular with girls now than when it first went co-ed

Jmlh - to be fair it will probably be quite similar to 2019 as from the data above that was quite a boy heavy year too. I would love to be wrong though as I have a DD this time round!
For those who are anxiously waiting for results, I think we have just passed the half way mark to allocation day!

Do we know if 2020 was less big heavy? Not long now - it’s driving me mad - hoping it’s more like 2020 as my daughters ranking is quite far down but if it’s the same we will be okay! X
