Polgara_glos can you please give us wisdom words for 2021 sitting? My DD will be sitting and it my first. I am very nervous. Thanks

I’ll have a think :)

Main one is that while the test does try to be tutor proof, scores definitely improve with practice of the questions and a good mock is essential for us as DC had never been in a test environment like that.

I wanted to check in on those who DCs didn’t qualify. How are you and your DC doing?

Happy New Year all!
Hoping allocation data comes quickly for everyone. Exciting and scary to think this is the year DC will be starting secondary school!
Im just really hope these Covid restrictions are a distant memory as it’s such a shame on the induction activities, if they miss out!

It’s oh so quiet in here now.
Hope everyones home learning is going well, we are struggling with motivation already. The work set is very basic, but haven’t had the time to find additional work to stretch it!

Hi Future, yes it is quiet! I have less capacity to help the kids with work compared to March, so for y6 DS the priority is to get him to self manage as much as possible, even if that means some work slips through the gaps. I won’t go near him with Maths or spag workbooks this time! Overall glad that the SATs are cancelled.

Similar here, I’ve been leaving it to him working in the dining room while I’ve been home working and just occasionally checking in on him! He’s a sensible boy so just gets on with it, although it’s really boring him with only a few days in!

Yes happy for Sats too, will the teachers be predicting grades or just scraped all together? I haven’t looked into, I believe they use to help put into sets at STR?
