Note date for registering for 12+ testing is in October and the test in February ...

February half term, at that.

What about people who have already booked holidays - it is only 6 months away after all? And of course, a holiday is not a good enough reason to miss the test.

A lousy decision in my opinion, especially with what appears to be so little notice.

Gosh that is early. I have one 12 Plus on my books, starting after my current cohort have completed thier 11 plus. I will have to ring them.

Another parent who believed what County state, ie familiarisation given at school is sufficient. Bright child x 3 level 5s, top end of class...

It does not give much time for a school to get to know the new Y7s to write a report ...

It would be interesting to know when this was decided ....
