If you read the whole thread it says.

Both English and Maths have 141 as the highest possible score, this is the same for DAO, HBS and Latymer.

This year only 5 boys out of 2928 scored 141 in English and 55 boys in Maths. 2 boys scored 141 in both. DG

Thanks a lot, didnt realise 141 was maximum marks. thought it was maximum marks obtained !
So how is the marking scheme?
Must be negative marking for wrong answers (as total marks students got are not multiple of 3x)

No negative marking it is a standardised score.

A maximum standardised score does not necessarily equate to 100%. It is a method of ranking the children who sat the test.

This data will not help you.

Things have changed so much in the last 5 years. Numbers applying have gone up by almost a third. Numbers turning down a place have gone down.

QE is just going to go on going up and up and being harder and harder to get into.

This year 235 on allocation day, last year 232.

12 more spaces were added 5 years ago and still the score to get a place continues to rise.

It normally just moves a couple of scores, 232 to 229 last year, 3 scores and not everyone on 229 got a place.

This year it could just be 2, 235 to 233.

I will be surprised if it reaches 232 this year. 233 is more likely.

Look at the DAO ranks. 29 ranks down which is 45% of the places that were available last year not becoming available this year.

An inexorable pattern.

Parents are finally waking up to the reality that the top grammars hold all the ingredients required for a great education with great teachers, great peer groups and great university and job opportunities.

Some of us have known that a lot longer than others. DG

good morning,

Is any movement in waiting list yet?

It has not been published but the student on waiting list number 3 on score 234 has received an email from QE offering him a place.

This means that the students on WL numbers 1 and 2 will also have been offered places. DG

Thank you.

This is very helpful so now we know QE has reached at least Waiting List number 8. DG
