What is an 'academic' interview?

Post by Apple15 »

We've applied for Bancroft's school in Essex, and they will invite pupils who pass the exam to an interview. They state this will be 'primarily academic' so no preparation is required.

I don't really know what this means - can anyone help me with understanding what they mean by 'academic'?

We're not doing lots of prep, but I would like to let my child know what sort of questions to expect so she isn't too flustered on the day.

Thanks for any insights.

This means that she will be asked questions about English and Maths. They want to watch how she thinks and approaches working something out. She may be given a short comprehension to read and answers questions on. DG

Thank you, I wasn't sure as I had previously heard that they weren't going to ask academic questions, as they no longer offer academic scholarships.

I guess this was incorrect information - as it says on the tin then!

Thanks very much :)
