Re: Redbridge - Result 2023
Looks like they set a passmark and then allocate by score - at this stage they can't say how many they will take and what the last score as no-one has actually applied and they don't know how many will apply on October 31stali786 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 21, 2023 12:03 am Hi all, when does Redbridge publish full list of scores for 2024 Grammar school entry, with the passmark being 104 and the email advises you to apply for grammar school if the child gets above that score, surely it depends on the scores of the other candidates, so does a score of 105 / 106 actually get entry?
Looking at the LEA site and posts here it seems that the last scores offered in last years were about 112

Re: Redbridge - Result 2023
Thank you for clarifying
Is past years' scores/cut offs usually a good indication for the future trend? I.e. my daughter got 112.51 which is extremely close to last year's cut off of 112.29. Is it likely she will eventually get an offer? Obviously there's no guarantee but does following the last year's trend usually come good? Thank you.

Looking at the past year trend, with 112.51 she should get an offer by September if not before that.Dalstonmum wrote: ↑Sat Oct 21, 2023 11:05 am Thank you for clarifying

DD got 120.76
Is this enough to get into WCHS?

Re: Redbridge - Result 2023
I hesitate to ask, but have you quoted your DD's score correctly? There isn't a '120.76' on the WCHS side of the table.
Anyway, you can get an idea of how likely you are to get a place, assuming that you live within the Common Catchment Area...
Find your DD's score and see how she ranks, score-wise.
Allow for a maximum of 45 girls from within the CCA eligible for Pupul Premium applying, plus those from anywhere with an EHCP or who are LAC / PLAC (combined, usually c.5 or fewer in grammar schools, but I don't know what the pattern is for WCHS) to come in above her when applicants are ranked by the oversubscriptioncriteria, because those could come from anywhere above or below your DD's score, down to the pass mark.
There will almost cettainly also be some girls above your DD's score who live outside the CCA and are not LAC / PLAC or have an EHCP, who will be ranked below all IC applicants, but this info isnt given..
Does that leave your DD within the PAN for the school (180)?
However, if you don't live within the Common Catchment Area and your DD doesn't fall into the LAC _ PLAC / EHCP categories, then your chance of a place, as the LB Redbridge states every year, is vanishingly slim to non-existant, unfortunately.

my daughter got 111.69. We have put Woodford as our first choice - but does anyone know the likely hood of her getting in?
