How do they calculate distance to the schools?

Post by bigrob »

Hi

Is it as the crow flys?

If so is there a good website to use to do the calculation.

Thanks

Bexley measure distance by the shortest walking route i.e all around the houses! We use google maps to work it out (but watch out for one-way systems which you can obviously walk the wrong way around)

The only school which I know is different is Hurstmere, which measures as the crow flies.

I believe the academy at Falconwood has a catchment area which i assume is as the crow flies, and children get places by lottery, but don't quote me on that.

They do.
If you phone school admissions they can tell you the distance of your address to every school in the borough.

That's great Tracy thanks. It's actually my friend's DS. I'll let her know.
