John Hampden - getting there from Maidenhead.

Post by sarah »

Good Morning,
I was thinking of putting John Hampden down on CAF. It seems that there is no direct/easy public transport from Maidenhead to the school. Does anyone have any advice on how I might get my son to there, I would not be able to drive him all the way as I have to be in Maidenhead by 8.30.

Thanks

I drop off DS at 0730 in Marlow where he catches a public service bus which stops somewhere near JHGS. I'm usually at Maidenhead / M4 Jn8/9 by 0750.

I believe there is a public bus from Bournend or wooburn it maybe easier for you to drop him there as getting to Maidenhead the back way is very quick.

Hi there, we stick our son on the bus at Bourne End, works well once you get used to the routine, have only ended up chasing the bus as far as Flaxwell Health once! I would say his experience at JHGS is certainly worth the little extra effort of getting him there!

John Hampden bus

Post by Complete Novice »

Hi, my friend lives in Maidenhead and her son gets on the bus for JHGS at 7.40am each morning at the corner of Linden Avenue and Courthouse Road. It is a private bus which has to be paid for but serves only the grammar schools. It goes to Borlase as well.

Hope that helps

Sarah, if you can't find the details about this bus, let me know and I can ask friend for the right telephone numbers. I'm pretty sure she said it was run by "Carousel".

Good luck

Hi
It is the number 35 bus and it is run by carousel. MYy son gets it home sometimes and it drops off in courthouse road.
