Pass mark this year

Post by shuff »

I have spoken to a friend who got her results today. I believe the pass mark is combined 360, that being NV 115 V 120 and maths 125. This is really early days and I can't guarantee it, but that is what she told me.

There is a good reason but I can't say why! If the NV pass mark is lower, would the upper end be lower too as in 70% being 140?

I wasn't referring to your friend, some people at work apparently have results - info comes through admin. heads have had results since Tuesday, but unable to give them out.

Thinking about these pass scores, surely each paper having a different cut off would mean that they weren't standardised, otherwise they would all be 120. Anyone any thoughts?

pass mark this year

Post by shorty101 »

I have been reading posts on this forum for along time and follwed some of the threads closely. I have to correct you and i do have it on extremely good authority that the aggregate score this year is360 with a minimum score on any of the papers of 114. There is no difference in pass marks for the papers but the minimun pass has gone uo this year with 114, 123, 123 being the baseline score whearas last year it was 115, 120 ,120 .However a child could reach the aggregatre score this year but still not pass as they have not got the minimum 114 in a single paper. Hope this helps.

if a child got 120 would that roughly be equivalent to 60 %, a 140 75% +

Tht's ok. I do know what you are all going through because I have a child also waitng for results. A very tense time and so much rumour flying around the playground. At least everybody will know where they stand tomorrow and be able to plan the next steps accordingly.

Oh I'm sorry, I didn't realise you knew each other. I'll post on another thread
