11 plus

Hi my son has just failed he's 11 plus. My wife and i have recently separated and this has affected my son.

Does anyone know if i can appeal due to him being under stress.

He has performed really well up until this time and he's school have never informed us that he was falling behind.

Please help

feel deeply upset that i have affected he's future.

You can use this as an extenuating circumstance.

history of achievment would seem to key though.

how far off was he

You dont say where you are, this might help people to give you some more acurate advice on appeals

Thank you.

He was close to pass mark but he' s course work was inconsistant so got fail.

Sorry Tony, stupid me, I now realise you posted in the kent section!

Anyway, when you say about his coursework, would I be correct in thinking that this was sent in with a Heads appeal?

My Sons was, and was also not accepted, as he didnt show his working out in maths. We still got through on the formal appeal.
I took no coursework into the formal appeal.

Can I ask what scores were acheived?

You have been very helpful.

I don't know exact score as my wife has not told me as we are baly speaking but blames me anyway.

From what i can get is the school has said he can't appeal

so i'm looking for info on how i can appeal against there decision

All i do know is that all through term the school has said he is doing well because i went to school because he was being bullied.

don't know what i can do but feel i should do something.

Try posting this in the appeals section Tony.

There is a wealth of advice (see the stickies) we have several members who are experts on appeal and/ or have been through this with their own children.

I am sure they will be able to help

the school may say that they would not assist in supporting an appeal, but they cant stop parents from appealing, to thier chosen schools

Naturally, it does look better if you have the support of the school.

Really you cant judge which direction to go in, uless you have the scores
from the headteacher, or from the local ed office. You will need a pupil ID for the latter
