Can I see her paper? and how is writing marked?

Post by for_tinkerbell »

My daughter has failed her medway test with the following marks
VR 119 Maths: 117 Creative writing: 85 Total:522

The 85 is the obvious problem and I am still baffled!
This is a ridiculously low score for a consistantly over achieving child who scored a 4A in writing at the end of year 5 it makes no sense!

My question therefore is both does anybody know if I can have the chance to see her paper? (I have called medway and they are are not helpful at all)

Also does anyone know how the marking works? I have a suspicion that she has got carried away with her story and strayed from what they have asked, in this case would they be unable to mark her work for not answering the question?

I would be grateful for any information anyone can give me as I am so puzzled it is very frustrating and my poor daughter's confidence is crushed! It would be great to make some sense of it!

Sorry to have to tell you that Medway are under no obligation to show you the paper.

Kent seem much more reasonable. I understand parents there are allowed access by arrangement.
