Appeals

Post by alysha1999 »

My daugher got 115 in the bucks 11 plus, but only 104 for berkshire. Do you think it would be worth appealing for a Bucks schools. Her grandparents seemed to think so!!

Hi alysha1999

I would go for it... but not sure what Berks result means.
However, we went for [Bucks] appeal last year with 118 and were unsuccessful - but, that doesn't mean you will be though!

It's very stressful for all concerned, but there's loads of information on here to help if you go for appeal.
Good Luck

Hi Alysha99

On a score of 115 (the other score is also important) your chances of succeeding statistically at an appeal are around 18%:

I suggest that you read this before deciding whether to go ahead:

Whatever you decide, you need to get your skates on, because the deadline for submitting an appeal is now less than a week away.

Help, I was under the impression that closing date was next Friday, 21 days after issue of results. Is this incorect?

The date is actually not given in either of the standard booklets, just the "21 days". However, everyone I know here is quoting Thursday, not Friday.

Is the date actually printed on the Appeal application form?

Hi Sally-Anne
The date of issue is prrinted on the appeal form, and yes, you are quite right, it says 'within' 21 days which would actually make it Thursday. Glad I checked again!
thanks, Sianyn

A grey area, and a touch lazy on the part of Admissions, because 21 days is really a matter of interpretation! The date could so easily be included on the form ...

However, don't fall foul of it, and get that form in on Thursday at the latest!
