Bucks 11+

Post by JagS »

Hi everyone I'm new to this , so wondering if anyone can help. My son got a score of 126 in the recent Bucks 11+. We have put Burnham Grammar as fourth choice on LEA CAF. However, we are OOC. Is this score good enough to get hima place at Burnham Grammar

The score is not important (as long as your childs gets 121 or above). All Grammar Schools in Bucks take on distance from school (with catchment children first) rather than the score. In previous years I think Burnham Grammar has had space for all who applied so unless things have changed dramatically this year, you should be fine.

Bucks Mum is absolutely correct - score ceased to be part of the Allocations Process several years ago.

It would need to be a dramatic epic to rival Ben Hur!

There will be plenty of places at BGS, I am sure.

All the above replies are correct - but, if a Bucks grammar is your fourth choice you will not be offered it if you fulfill the relevant criteria in respect of any of the three choices before it....

Although you have qualified academically for Burnham Grammar and distance is not a problem with this particular school, you will only be offered it if you do not qualify for choices 1,2 and 3.

However, it is re-assuring to know that if you don't match the requirements for choices 1,2 and 3 you should be fine for choice 4, Burnham Grammar.

Best of luck
