reasoning paper

Help!!

Just registered my dd for an entrance exam in early January and she will be taking the Nfer (now Letts) Special Access Test, but I have no time left to buy this and prepare her.

The school have listed the types of question. Some are obvious to me but I'm not sure what others mean.

1 word construction

2 concept exclusion

3 rule induction

4 rule application

5 formal logic

Anyone with some understanding of what these questions might entail, please post your comments!

Doing a google search on 'Special access test', it came up with 'Abstract reasoning',

Test Development Unit (1987) - Tests only
Special Access Test Series: Abstract Reasoning 1A and1B
Windsor: NFER-Nelson

which was the name for the NVR paper sat at our grammar school.

Therefore paper may entail Nfer NVR type questions.
