OMG he did it!

Post by Freya »

Postman just arrived. Mugged him for letter. Ripped it open (with DS's permission) and . . . .

DS has been offered a sports AND academic scholarship !

:D  :D  :D  :D  :D  :D

I'm so very proud! I just want to hug him but he's at school!

The other great thing is that the top class rugby boots we just ordered for him arrived with the postie too so he will have a big treat once he has read the letter!

YEY YEY YEY YEY YEY YEY

Can you tell I'm H A P P Y :D

Freya- how fantastic!
Does that mean you don't have to pay any fees or do you get a big reduction?
Either way- congratulation to your DS - remember the euphoria from last year! Do you keep re-reading the letter!! :D :D :D

Thanks Snowdrops, Zorro and Heidiho!

LOL Yes, I keep re-reading the letter because if I don't then the words might change!

We do still have to pay fees but it is a largeish reduction. DS has done well as around here it is not the norm to offer year 7s big scholarships, concentrating instead on bursaries.

Think we may have to have a little celebration later - off to pop some champagne in the fridge!

We won't make an absolute choice about this school yet as DS still has one more to sit plus a sports assessment. Then, if he has another offer, the fun of comparing pros and cons will start. Good news is that we have 6 weeks before the offer expires.

Thanks Watfordmum66!

Congratulations to your nephew and good luck to him for the school they really want (wouldn't happen to be Christ College would it?). My DS has entrance exams there on 7th Feb.
