Free Rice goes curriculum crazy!

Post by Sally-Anne »

Oh this is just wonderful, wonderful, wonderful! :D :D :D

I hadn't looked at Free Rice for some months, but DS2 talked about it tonight, so I checked it out again.

Free Rice has now been extended to cover curriculum-related subjects - Art, Chemistry, English Grammar (and the original Vocab), Geography, Languages (French, Spanish and German) and Maths (multiplication, addition and subtraction).

http://freerice.com/category" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

This is fantastic 11+ practice material, great home-learning material and you can still Feed the World while learning!

Whichever screen you are on, just click "Change subjects" in the top RH corner of the box to move to something new.

I'm off to do capital cities! So excited! :lol:

(Mini-health warning - it is a US based site, so the English grammar may be a touch biased, but they did a good job on the vocab)

Capital cities is easy if you have a good grasp of geography.

Famous paintings is proving to be the stumbling block, even though it shouldn't be?

English grammar is a bit disappointing.

Still exploring though. It's nice to get out, when we've been snowed in (allegedly) for so long. :D

My daughter and I loved the Famous Paintings, had to earn lots of rice. Obviously all the cultural trips around the Musee d'Orsay paid off. We were dismal on countries in the Far East though, bit far for a trip too :cry:
