Materials on the day
I know this is probably somewhere on the LEA site, but what materials can be taken into the test/are supplied on the day? I'm thinking:-
- pencils (or are they supplied?)
- eraser
Is rough paper supplied for students (and then collected afterwards) or must all work be done on the papers?

Not in your area, but in most places, I think, parents usually get some kind of communication much nearer the date, regarding the finer details of the exam session.allovernow wrote:I know this is probably somewhere on the LEA site, but what materials can be taken into the test/are supplied on the day? DD sat test a couple of years ago at HSFG. We received a letter at the beginning of September giving all the info needed - what gate to enter and times to arrive, wear supplied name badge, remember her allocated group, bring completed ID form, drink and snack, They must not bring anything else especially stop watches/digital watches, mobile phone or electrical equipment (eg. ipod/mp3etc) and wear out-of-school clothes.
By memory, I think they are only allowed the pencil, question and answer sheets on the desk, which were all provided for us.
Good luck!

My daughter sat the test at SHS yesterday. I received clear instructions by email about what she was to take with her about 2 weeks before. 2 HB pencils, a rubber, a pencil sharpener, plus the ID form and sticker which came through the post soon afterwards. Also a snack and a drink. Everything to be in clear plastic bags. It didn't mention clothing to the best of my knowledge so I dressed her in school uniform which seemed logical to me as that was what most children had worn to the Open Evenings but there were only two others there in uniform out of 300! Fortunately she is resilient and wasn't too bothered but I would love to prevent any other well meaning parent from making the same mistake!
