Hello all,

Please can I have reviews of Masterbrain academy, Ilford?
My DS is in year 4 and starting the 11+ preparations. We are thinking of sending him to master brain academy in Ilford and looking for reviews (good or bad).

Thanks a lot

Ten minutes browsing their website tells you a lot. Not a place I’d send my child to.

Your reasoning? Any insight would be helpful.

Because there are at least 8 spelling/grammar errors on the home page of their website - and I spent about two minutes looking at it, so there could be a whole heap more? Not what you want for an 11+ provider, possibly.

I would also be extrememly wary of any organisation that, in this day and age, with the changes to GDPR that came in last year (so no excuse), that continues to publish pictures of children and their full names.... the enormous safeguarding alarms that should be blaring in every parents head can be heard all the way up to Aberdeen.....

The grammar is appalling. The information - at least that pertaining to HBS - is completely out of date. Why would anyone hand over money to an 'educational' establishment which purports to teach English and yet cannot use English properly? and which claims to offer " continuously updated" resources yet has out of date information?

The 'doesn't recommend' review on the FB page isn't too encouraging, either .

One of their FB photos shows some of their worksheets. The 'synonyms' worksheet states that two synonyms for the word 'rebuke' are 'blame' and 'refusal'. This is WRONG. I'm incredulous that nobody has picked them up on this. :o
