I am looking for some advice from experienced parents who DC got thru in Tiffin Boys.. My son is quite academically inclined ,currently year3 ..

all he needs is more of focus, concentration and hence looking for someone who can mentor him and assess - in terms of Maths and English - if there are any gaps / weaknesses that he would need addressed in the year leading up to taking the entrance exam.

i am at the moment really unsure of getting him tutored or not since i feel its too early and he might get bored soon and worried with his writing skills -creative writing.

Maybe any kind parent recommend a tutor - who specialises in preparing children for the Tiffin Boys 11+ entrance examinations in Maths and English - both for Stage 1 and for Stage 2 of the examinations.
i am based in Sutton.

many thanks

A few pointers for you re the exam for GS

All GS bases their exam on KS2 curriculum, so at the time of the exam your child needs to be able to understand almost all of the KS2 topics, bare in mind they take the GS exam at the beginning of Yr6, whereas K2 is done at the end of Yr6

Whether you tutor or DIY is entirely up to you. The tutors do not have a magic bullet. Your child has to be focused and want to to the exam, do not underestimate the pressure that will bring, especially towards the end.

You mention your child is at Y3 now, start with some of the Bond books and see how he/she gets along. Based on the marks from these you can gauge and an idea of what approach to take.

One final point, your child will need a wide range of English vocabulary and be good at creative writing. This comes from reading from an early age, not by tutoring!
