I wondered if I could ask if there is any year end testing that takes place at Tiffin Boys.

I know that a grammar school attended by DD there is no year end testing and I believe this does not prepare children for exams when they come later at GCSE etc.

However, at Reading Boys they have taken this into account and are testing their boys at the end of the year, so when exams come at GCSE and A levels they have some exam/test taking experience.

Wondered if anyone knows about this or if it is being considered at Tiffin Boys.

All years groups have the CAT( core assessment tests ) all year round, they also have the end of year exams. Year 10's marks are heavily stressed on GCSE exams. Year 11's have mock exams in Nov-Dec. So that they have enough time to rectify their weak areas and get ready for GCSE. Career planning/counselling starts in year 10. Hope this helps
