We were too late booking a session.
Please could you post feedback on this familiarisation test?
How was the overall experience?
Did you receive detailed feedback?
Was it worth it?
It would be interesting to know if the structure of the Newstead Wood familiarisation test mirrors the real Newstead Wood test.
Thanks in advance

Hello, is there a familiarisation test planned this year [2019] ? We are keen to enrol and would like to have an opportunity for child to get used to the premises before the actual exam day.

I had a quick look on the school website & it looks as though the information on there is from last summer as it still says 14th July. However, there is an email address for the PTA on there, you could try asking them.

Last year PettswoodFiona told us on 25 June that the booking was opening on 27 June and the test was on 14 July. Perhaps PwF will be able to tell when it opens this year.
A mention here on their website under governing body minutes for 10 July. They were sold out quickly last year. Pupil Premium students can take the familiarisation test for free.
4. Familiarisation tests to be run by the Parents’ Association? ..... explained that the PA had put the tests together (some of them did the same for St Olave’s), and this was something that many grammar schools did. The cost was £60 per student, and 120 had signed up. This year’s test was a trial run, and the PA would decide whether they would be able to run this annually. The whole process was independent of the school, and .... would attend to ensure that procedures were in place. The PA were hiring the school hall to run the tests, and the school was not publicising or promoting the tests – this was purely a PA initiative to support the school. Pupil Premium students were able to take the tests free of charge, and the PA website promoted how Pupil Premium students could apply.

I have contacted the PA and once I hear back I will let you know.
